The Coral Sea Foundation’s mission is to raise awareness of the ecological and social value of the reefs of the Coral Sea, Melanesia and the Great Barrier Reef, and to be proactive in their sustainable management. Their approach combines science, gender equity, and sustainability. They develop pragmatic reef monitoring solutions and work to empower First Nations custodians with the skills and knowledge they need to sustainably manage their own Sea Country.

The Big Blue Ocean Foundation supports the Coral Sea Foundation’s Sea Women Great Barrier Reef training program, which provides a pathway into marine science and conservation for Indigenous women from North Queensland.
